Description: |
The objective of the program is to help prepare, motivate, and support students who aspire to obtain a Ph.D. and pursue a career in research. Each student is paired with a faculty mentor who conducts research in the biomedical sciences (particularly pulmonary, heart and vascular, and blood diseases and disorders) in which they have a specific interest, participate in weekly seminars offered by UA faculty on health issues disproportionately affecting minority populations, attend weekly workshops on graduate school preparation and presentation skill development, attend a GRE Prep Workshop, and present their work at the University of Arizona's end of summer research symposium. |

$4,000 stipend, round-trip airfaire provided to Tucson from anywhere within the US and Puerto Rico, six units of upper division research credit, and housing at University of Arizona. |
