AWIS attempts to tailor an intern's educational and work-related needs to the goals of the organization. Interns are a vital part of the National Office operations and AWIS strives to make the intern's experience valuable to their own career goals. Interns generally work closely with a staff member, such as an Executive Director, Financial Manager, Membership Manager, or Publications Manager. In the past, interns have acted as liaisons to the National Coalition for Women and Girls in Education, attended hearings and followed judicial decisions, composed press releases, worked on grants, and assisted with a variety of activities. Current internship positions available include: Chapter Interns, Events Interns, Grants Interns, Legislative Analysts, Publications Interns, Members Interns, Research and Information Interns, Resources Interns, and Web Interns.
