Description: 

The Washington University Biomedical Research Apprenticeship Program (BiomedRAP) is designed to provide individuals interested in a career in biomedical science with an intensive 10-week laboratory experience at one of the top research institutions in the nation. Participants will engage in an independent research project under the mentorship of graduate faculty at the Washington University School of Medicine. Program activities include journal clubs, seminars, individualized career counseling, graduate school application workshops and social activities. The program will conclude with a symposium featuring research presentations by participants. A number of workshops will be provided that introduce major experimental systems and techniques; weekly discussion sessions with graduate students and faculty on current research advances and literature and ethical issues in biomedical research.
   

Benefits: 

Generous research stipend, local travel allowance and housing provided. Participants will also receive travel funds to present their research at scientific meetings after successfully completing the program.
