Description: |
The purpose of the NNEMS program is to: 1) Provide students with practical research opportunities and experiences in an EPA office or laboratory; 2) Increase public awareness and involvement in environmental issues; 3) Encourage qualified individuals to pursue environmental careers; and 4) Help defray the costs associated with the pursuit of academic programs related to the field of environmental protection, such as pollution control, science, engineering, technology, social science, and specialty areas. Students may choose from approximately 40 research projects in the areas of environmental policy, regulation and law; environmental management and administration; environmental science; and public relations and communications. |

Benefits: |
Recipients of NNEMS fellowships receive a stipend based on their level of education and the duration and location of the project. |
